About Me
My name is Anthony Monrobert Jimenez, I was born in Charlotte NC and raised in San Carlos, Costa Rica. I am studying mechanical engineering because I've always had an interest in understanding how things work and their functions. Before college, I landed a job as a CNC machine technician, where I had the opportunity to work alongside engineers, which motivated me to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. Lately, I have been interested in interior design, and I would love to experiment with designing a functional abstract furniture piece by using a mix of my creative aspects and knowledge stemming from the mechanical engineering department at UNCC. MEGR 2156 lab (Design Lab I) was one of my anticipated classes I was interested in, including MEGR 3156 (Design Lab II), MEGR 3231 (Advanced CAD/CAM), and MEGR 3255-3256 (Senior Design I & II). I'm interested in any classes that involve design and hands-on work since it strengthens my knowledge and abilities to pursue designing. Making something on my own interests me. I consider my strengths to be my ability to efficiently balance work and school. I usually am busy and have to properly manage my time in order to study, work, and complete assignments before the deadline. I would say my main weakness I've been working on is that I am a self-critic and often get caught up in my own thoughts due to certain projects not turning out how I imagined. I strive for perfection. Five things off my bucket list would be to earn my PE license, own a couple acres with a small self-sustainable farm, run a full marathon, sky dive from the top of a beautiful landscape, and explore Europe. A fun fact about me is that I've been skating for thirteen years. This assignment lured me to spend more time improving my HTML skills and I was able to update and make my webpage to make it look more professional.
