I am an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte
My research and teaching focus on system software for IoT, Edge, and Cloud computing. Along with my students, I'm developing software abstractions that help design and deploy scalable, real-time AI applications on distributed edge computing systems. We prioritize issues of privacy, security, and sustainability. These applications are particularly relevant to automated monitoring and alerting in areas like Smart Cities, Public Safety, and Healthcare. Our work also extends to emerging technologies such as autonomous vehicles and AR/VR. Our research is supported in part by the National Science Foundation.
I received the Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, and undergraduate degrees from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. I enjoy hands-on coding, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. In my spare time I enjoy travel, Yoga, Barbeque, Argetine Tango, and spending time with family and friends.
