I have been fascinated with space exploration since I was a kid. Videos of rocket launches and astronauts on the ISS were so inspiring when I was growing up. If you're also captivated by the magic of space, have a look at NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day website for beautiful shots and the stories behind them or visit The Planetary Society, a nonprofit founded by Carl Sagan (among others) and whose goal is advancing space exploration.		Along with advancing my own education, I also homeschool my teenaged daughter. Pulling her out of public school was the best decision I ever made. If you're also interested in alternatives to public schooling for your K-12 child, you may want to explore PragerU's Resources for Educators & Parents (PREP) for pro-American resources and education tools. If you aren't sure what you should be teaching, try perusing Rainbow Resource Center for an exhaustive selection of homeschooling curricula to customize your child's education to suit your expectations and your child's needs.		I love rats! I think they have an undeserved negative reputation. Right now Charles River Laboratories is working with local pet rat breeders to eliminate Streptobacillus Moniliformis (the bacteria that causes Rat Bite Fever) in rat kittens by cross-fostering them with "clean" nursing females. The facebook group The Coalition for the Preservation of Fancy Rat Genetics has information on a directed effort by local breeders to eliminate RBF from local pet colonies.
