Problem Statement: The purpose of the design is to be an easy operation, or automated, cat box that gathers is capable of moving up to 3lbs of waste into a set trash area.
Assumptions: The design for the litter box should eliminate the need for using a hand-held scooper and needing to put cat waste away after each scoop. The components chosen for the module should be easy to manufacture, durable, and easy to use after assembly.
My decision matrix was used to compare my three components in what I believe to be their most important categories: Cost, Durability, and Manufacturability. I compared the values using a weight and point scoring system for each component and developing a score to find which strategy to choose
The base component is the best in all categories because of its cheap durability that is very simple to manufacture with basic injection molding or deep drawing
I believe the lead screw to be the second easiest to manufacture component because they are durable and nearly as cheap/ easy to manufacture as the base.
The handle is also a fairly cheap and durable component however I believe it is not as easy to manufacture compared to the lead screw and base
The most difficult component will be the gate. The gate will cost more due to it needing a stronger weighted material like steel, and would be a little bit more time consuming to manufacture, but could be done easily with some form of casting.

Activities:
12/12 Design Matrix 4pm-5pm
12/12 Gantt Chart: 5pm-7pm
12/13 Drawings: 7-9pm
12/13 Learned: 9-10pm
12/14 Comments to advisees: 11pm-12am
Lessons Learned:
I was able to relearn creating engineering drawings since this is something I forgot how to do. Also I am continuing to learn time management through these assignments

Not up when I looked.
I like the layout of your website it is super easy to look at and navigate. Your concept images are well drawn and the equations were well thought out. I tell see you put alot of effort into thinking of new concepts for your design.Good job!
