Messrs. Cut & Comeagain
Dear Mr. John Cut & Mr. Ralph Comeagain:
I am interested in the walking advertiser position listed in the New York Times on August 29. I have experience in advertising for various businesses around the city and know I am the ideal candidate for this position. I attended the City College of New York and majored in Marketing, so my background fits the walking advertiser position very well.
For the past three years, Ive been working as a sandwich board on the Lower East side for a pizzeria. Routinely, I have attracted hungry customers into the pizzeria by being on display at key timesfrom 11-2 for lunch and from 5-midnight for dinner. At night my sandwich board lights up, and during Christmas I dress up like Santa Claus and play holiday tunes on my organ grinder. The hours are tough, but I have consistently been on time and enthusiastic every day Im on the job.
Ive learned much in my three years working at the pizzeria. As my rsum shows, I know how to design sandwich boards using PageMaker and MS Publisher. Normally, I make the design on the computer, detailing all text, graphics, and colors, and then send the files to a sign shop to create the actual sandwich board. The board is heavy and hard to move quickly, but, since Im an experienced sandwich board operator, I have a superb system and method for performing my walking duties: I realize that speed isnt as important as slight variation of angle; I dont sit in one place, but I also dont scamper too quickly. Obviously, if I moved too fast, no one would be able to read the specials. I maintain a nice medium pace, turning ever so slightly.
I appreciate any consideration you may give me. I have enclosed my rsum for your review and would like to discuss my application further in an interview with your company. Please contact me at the number above or e-mail me at peterprofit@gmail.com if I can answer any questions you may have.
Hugs and Kisses,
Peter Profit
