Accessing Your 'H' Drive Off Campus

Remote Access Using Your Novell Account

When you're off campus, you can get to your files on your server space by going through Remote File Access.  The links you would use to get there are as follows:

1. The Main Computing Labs Page (this opens in a new window)

2. Under "Account Information," Click on Novell Network

3. Scroll down to "Remote File Access" and click NetStorage

4. Alternatively, type "http://webpages.uncc.edu/"

Let's try it out.

• Go to the link above and click the 'NetStorage' link

• Put in your Novell UserID and Password

• A Novell screen like the one below will appear
  

Your screen should have "DriveH@userID"; double click that.

Backup Your H:\ Drive

At the end of each semester, you are required to backup the personal data on your H:\ drive to an alternate data source. CD-R/RW drives are available in all computer labs. DVD-RW drives are available in the open computer labs in Barnard.

The University reserves the right to purge data stored on your H:\ drive at the end of each semester.
