In 2022, the first year that the FRC World Championship occurred since COVID-19, I was accepted to volunteer as a referee!
From the start I wasn't expecting to be accepted, as there are only spots for 30 referees across the hundreds of volunteers.
The experience was unforgettable, and I met so many incredible people who remind me why I volunteer for FIRST.
The World Championship is now the guiding holiday within my personal calendar, for better or worse.
