Unit 3 Assignment
Problem Statement:
Most people who keep potted plants inside have the issue of lifting their potted plant from the tray that catches the excess water. Typically people will throw this excess water from the tray outside. The purpose of my design is for people not to have to worry about having to lift the plant and remove the tray. My design allows for anyone to be able to acess the excess water from the tray easily and be able to reuse that excess water to water their plant.
Assumptions:
The assumptions for my design is that it will be able to withhold a certain amount of excess water from the plant while also, preventing from the owner having to pick up the plant to remove it from the tray. The tray connected to the plant could possibly overfill with water that is why it would be necessary to release some of the water from the hose bibb into a watering pot.
Gantt Chart
Strategy 1
For the Elderly:
Strategy 1 consist of a pot that already has small holes on the bottom to let the excess water run out into the tray. There is a submersible pump located in the tray that leads up to the plant so when the float switched is switched on the pump will pump water out from the tray and into the plant.
Strategy 2
For the Middled Age:
Strategy 2 consist of a water sensor to detect when the tray is filled with excess water. The sensor will send a signal to the small door located on the bottom of the tray. A watering pot could be placed underneath to allow the excess water into the pot and be able to use it water the plant. The door will close once the sensor detects all of the water is emptied into the tray.
Strategy 3
For Anyone:
Strategy 3 consist of a pulley system with a small bucket and a switch. Once the switch is turned on the bucket will fill with water from the tray then travel up to the pot and dump the water into the pot.

Khayzarn Qubbaj:Your strategies sketches are very well drawn and easy to understand. Also, your decision matrix is clear and makes sense which design is the best.
Obyda Marzouk:Your FRDPARRC tables are clear and make sense. Also, I really like the sketches of your strategies. You updated your problem statement well and accordingly to your stratgies.
