5.1 Application Views
The first color plate represents several different views on the application. The top image is the entire application window with all twenty-two populations present. The represented time step is advanced enough in the sequence to show significant action. The bottom left image is of three cell populations displaying different levels of activity. The middle population, Ext-Inh-Int, is of interest because it is featured in the sequence on the next color plate. The bottom right image has a fiber population on the left and a cell population on the right. Although the cell population on the right appears to be very active, there are no firing cells.
5.2 Sequence
The second color plate is a time sequence of the Ext-Inh-Int cell population. Moving from left to right and top to bottom the sequence shows the population in transition from moderate activity to minimal activity.
