The build that is using this part is Phanteks AMD Ryzen 7 3800X Work Station.
The Ryzen 7 3800X is an 8-core, 16-thread CPU designed for the AM4 platform. It utilizes AMD's Ryzen architecture, which is effective for splitting large tasks into smaller chunks across its cores. The CPU is well-suited for desktop use, including gaming and mid-level productivity. With a TDP of 105 watts, it maintains high boost clocks and stable performance. Compared to the previous version, Zen 2 improves multicore performance but does not significantly enhance single-core speed. At launch, AMD's competitor Intel offered better gaming CPUs, making the 3800X somewhat less competitive. However, it was reasonably priced and came with a cooler that was better than the Ryzen 5 counterpart, even rivaling some third-party options.
I give the Ryzen 7 3800X a 3.5/5.
