The UNC Charlotte Super Competition is an outreach event
consisting of a day of academic competitions for high school students held
annually in cooperation between the departments of Mathematics and Statistics,
Chemistry, Physics and Optical Science, and the 
MATHEMATICS CONTESTS
This year 90 students participated in the comprehensive mathematics contest from 14 schools, and 41 students participated in the Algebra II contest from eight schools. The students and teachers had the opportunity to hear a talk by Robert Devaney on the subject of “Chaos Games and Fractal Images.”
The top two winners in the Comprehensive Mathematics
division tied for first place with perfect scores.  These students were Brendan Fletcher of
Charlotte Home Educators Association and Bryce Taylor of
