About

Computational Researcher & Software Engineer.

Hello! I am Adiba Sumaiya Khan. I am pursuing my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I am working under Dr. Xiang Shawn Chen. Our work combines developing a coupled atomistic-continuum simulator using parallel algorithms to study the effects of microstructures on functional alloys, bridging nanoscale and macroscale behaviors. Previously, I worked as a Full-Stack Software Engineer at ERA-Infotech Ltd, Dhaka, Bangladesh. I have 3+ years of experience in the Software Industry. I completed my B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the North South University in 2019. I have participated in programming contests and several tech competitions during my undergrad. My Research Interests are

  • OpenMPI
  • Parallel Algorithm
  • Machine Learning

A Novel Approach to Mitigate the Intensity Underestimation Problem Of Classical MHCPP in 5G Small Cell Networks

Published year-2020

In this paper, we propose a novel model called Displaced Offspring Hard Core Point Process (DO-HCPP) by applying displacement theorem to shift the discs through a predefined angle in an iterative manner to obtain the maximum achievable intensity in a given region. Simulation results show that the intensity is much higher for our proposed model compared to traditional MHCPP.

Safe Sailing: GSM and GPS Controlled Autonomous Boat with Overweight Detection and Obstacle Avoidance

Published year- 2019

This paper aims to save thousands of lives by proposing a novel technique of ensuring the complete safety of medium-sized aquatic vehicles using innovative ideas as well as augmented adaptations of myriad existing technologies.
