The purpose of this design is to provide people with a 3 in 1 solution for storing toilet paper, displaying "in use" toilet paper as well as providing a trash can to dispose of used toilet paper. to bring more toilet paper whedue to lack of space/storage unit in the bathroom.I have developed 3 concepts to cater for the college students, elderly and the children. Each design includes a toilet paper holder and a storage unit. These concepts are made to help solve the problem of not having enough bathroom storage for the toilet paper, as well as not having a toilet paper holder or not having it within reach.
My assumption is that the toilet stands at about 17-19 inches off the ground, therefore the designs were made to accomodate to that.As well as providing a cost efficient, hassle-free product that will solve the daily struggles of not having enough bathroom storage as well as not having a toilet paper holder within reach.
The Decision Matrix classifies the importance of each factor of the 3 designs. That allows us to determine the best strategy to use. The "College student" strategy is the best option when it comes to its light weight and ease of assembly. The "Elderly" design satisfies all the needs, but the assembly and safety scored the highest of all 4 of the factors. The weight of that design was the greatest because of the addition of the handle and the wheels. The "Children" design was the best of all the designs since it was the smallest in size, therefore making it the least in weight.
The Gantt Chart for this project will be updated continually as I get to work on more assignments.
FRDPARRC Tables (Strategy 1-3)
This strategy is for the college students that are living in dorms and do not have much storage in the bathroom and are always forget to bring their toilet paper to the bathroom, as well as not having the toilet paper holder close by. This deisgn is also retractable, therefore making it easy to close the 2 arms together due to the hinges at each of the arms, which allows the students to save place, when moving it around or when it is stored. The holder should be easy to use and not too heavy to be moved around as necessary. It also has a built in trash can, which can be used as needed.
The second strategy is for the elderly, it has a built in handle and wheels, allowing it to be easy to manuver, and move as needed as well as eliminating the need to carry out the trash outside, as it can simply be moved via the wheels next to the trash. This design also has 2 levels to adjust the angle of the arm holder and toilet paper holder.
The third strategy is geared towards kids, it has a more kid-friendly shape with the colored cyliner looking body as well as it has a handle that can be used to move the toilet paper holder around as needed via the wheels. It also has a toilet paper holder piece attached to the side, with the body of the holder acting as storage for extra toilet paper.
