With over 15 years of dedicated experience in aquatic safety, Carrie Randolph is a seasoned professional passionate about water safety and helping others develop their skills in the water. As a certified Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (LGIT) , Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Certified Swim Instructor, and CPR/First Aid/AED Trainer, Carrie has a deep understanding of the importance of preparedness and education in water environments.

Throughout her career, Carrie has taught hundreds of swimmers, from beginners to advanced levels, always prioritizing safety, confidence, and skill development. Her expertise goes beyond the poolside, as she is deeply committed to empowering others with life-saving CPR, First Aid, AED and Lifeguarding techniques, ensuring that everyone is equipped to respond in emergencies.

Carrie's commitment to water safety is more than just a job—it's a passion. Whether she's teaching swim lessons, leading safety certifications, or keeping watch as a lifeguard, Carrie takes pride in creating safe, supportive environments where individuals can learn, grow, and feel confident in their aquatic abilities.

Carrie has held many positions within aquatics over the years including the YMCA, Boy Scouts of America, and Mecklenburg County. She currently servers as the Assistant Director of Aquatics and Risk Management at UNC Charlotte since 2021.

FAQ's

What are the prerequsties?

Compete a swim-tread-swim sequence for a total of 200 yds swim and 2 min tread without using hands

Brick Test – simulated rescue

Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the Lifeguarding course

I can't do any of the times listed on the Calendar, what are my option?

Contact me, and we can figure out a time that works for both of us.

My previous certification expired, am I elligble for a new one?

To maintain the Lifeguarding certification, a currently certified lifeguard must successfully complete the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Recertification course or the full Lifeguarding course again prior to certificate expiration. A 30-day grace period may apply but it does not extend the certification beyond the 2 years.

Once the Lifeguarding certification is expired, a participant must successfully complete the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course
