Natalie LoVullo
Mechanical Engineering 2156 Portfolio
My name is Natalie LoVullo. I am originally from Syracuse, NY but moved to North Carolina in 2009. I am a transfer student from North Carolina State University and now I am studying Mechanical Engineering at UNC Charlotte. My choice to study Mechanical Engineering stems from my desire for a hands on career that allows me to work though all aspects of product development. In 2156, I would love to design a hand held belt scraping tool to remove plastifications from an industrial conveyor belt on a non-woven textile manufacturing line that has a length appropriate to keep operators outside the machine guarding but also offers enough feedback from the line to still be an effective tool. This semester, I have been accepted into the motor sports concentration and will be taking Introduction to Motor sports. I am very excited to expand my knowledge in this area while gaining hands on experience. I am greatly looking forward to 2156 and learning how to use all the machines in the shop. My strengths are rapid prototyping and 3D modelling. My weaknesses include public speaking and chemistry. I currently work for Berry Global as a Process Engineering Intern. My position is a project based position focusing in areas of reliability and sustainability. Projects that I have been working on included designing tools for the manufacturing lines that are safer for operator use, designing monitoring systems for treatment pumps, and producing static elimination solutions. Some things on my bucket list include owning a 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE, getting my pilot's license, living in Australia for at least a year, earning my PE, and obtaining my PhD in Mechanical Engineering. During this assignment I learned that I am very dedicated to my work and always find a way to connect my projects to my relevant schooling. In total, I have spent around 3 hours working on this assignment.
