Demo Reel & Logo

After Effects & Premiere Pro - 2022

This project was made as promotional material for my Illustration Media/Methods course. I designed my own personal logo, created a reveal animation for it, and followed it with a demo reel of some of my animation and video work. This same work is featured throughout my website.

For the same project, I also designed a sticker of my logo and a promotional print. The print features my Instagram name and handle. My skull logo was inspired by my consistent use of spooky yet playful thematic devices, along with my simultaneous love for digital media (represented by the 3D glasses) and illustration/fine arts (represented by the beret).

Romantic 4.0 Diner

This project was made in my 4D studio. It is an apocalyptic "still life" photo animation inspired by the Romanticism movement, twisting its aesthetics into a dystopia rather than idealizing the environment. Exhibited in UNCC's 2022 Juried Student Art Show.

House of the Cretan Woman

After Effects - 2022

House of the Cretan Woman is a work in progress project with nonprofit company Megawra in Cairo, Egypt. I worked on the project as a concept artist, animator, and voice actor in Spring 2022 as part of my Animation Production class at UNC Charlotte. The animation brings some of The Legends of the House of the Cretan Woman to life using Adobe After Effects and DUIK Bassel. The full story will be completed by future classes, but in the meantime, enjoy some of the behind the scenes work that I helped make.

2021

This project was made for my Digital Foundations studio. It is a summary of what had happened in 2021 thus far and a look toward the future (made originally in the spring of that year). It delves into aspects of the Covid-19 Pandemic, such as the reality of online learning, while also lightheartedly referencing pop culture trends of the time.

Spirit Sitters Logo Reveal

This project was made for my 4D studio. It is a logo reveal design for an imaginary company. The company, "Spirit Sitters" offers babysitting services for the ghouls that infest your home. No longer must you worry about them while you are away!

Overgrown Lower Third

This project was made in my 4D studio, featuring a creative lower third design. Using a photo of myself, I took a playful approach in mirroring the content and color scheme of the photo in the animated text.

Birds of a Feather (War Trailer)

A mixture of comedy and grit, this production from my Video Art studio showcases techniques of editing dramatic movie trailers. Featured in UNCC's 2022 Goldren Reel Film Festival.

An exploration of time and how confusing it can seem, from my Video Art studio. Is our main character really catching sight of supernatural entities, or are they simply losing their mind?

Man Above Mole Below (Mockumentary)

A comedic, yet unsettling take on found-footage horror films like The Blair Witch Project. This short film employs traditional mockumentary-style techniques with a taped over VHS/VCR-style aesthetic.

This project showcases the use of visual effects in video production. It also takes a comedic look at what it means to be an art major, poking fun at the stereotypes that come along with it.

This project was an exercise in continuity editing techniques. Appealing to the struggles of my fellow UNC Charlotte student, I took a comedic, music-oriented approach to the assignment. Featured in UNCC's 2022 Goldren Reel Film Festival.

The Dichotic Dilemma

Premiere Pro - 2022

This chroma key-centered project employs the use of greenscreen in a humorous story. Taking on the cliché trope of having a devil and angel on your shoulders, the film's darker plot is slowly revealed through more and more ridiculous dialogue. No real grandmothers were harmed in its making.

The Gramophone Series

Illustrator - 2021

My first Gramophone design was made in my 4D studio. After its completetion, I decided to translate the same basic idea into two other designs but with a twist. Each presents an imaginative product design in a poster-advertisement format.

Heather Freeman Magazine Spread

Colored Pencil & InDesign - 2022

Made for my Media/Methods Illustration studio, this project combines traditional and digital tools to create a magazine spread. I chose to interview Heather Freeman, a Digital Media professor at UNC Charlotte, for the assignment. The design is reflective of the wide-ranging conversation we had and the many endeavors Freeman pursues.

Worry Free TV

Photoshop - 2021

Inspired by vintage posters, this project juxtaposes new technology with retro aesthetics. It warns of the dangers that such new technology may hold in demanding our attention, thus taking it away from more serious local issues. The assignment was from my 4D studio as an exploration of photo compositing.

Memento Mori

This graphic was made as an exploration of how people view death and ideas surrounding change in general. It is a recurring theme in my work.

Breaking Antiquity

A new age take on traditional cubist techniques, this work clashes aesthetics of the modern age with that of antique history. As technology advances, what traditions do we leave behind? How do we continue to see ourselves in an everchanging digital world? These are questions that I have considered throughout my art career, especially as a digital media artist. Featured in Nova 2022 Literary-Arts Magazine at UNCC.

WIA Social Media Graphics

Canva - 2022

As the Graphic Designer for UNCC's Chapter of Women in Animation, I have gained experience in designing graphics for social media with a quick turnaround time (utilizing free assets from Canva). My designs have been the primary mode of advertisement and communication with club members about upcoming meetings and events. Increased engagement on Instagram in this way has greatly improved attendance and activity participation.
