for the purpose of discussing and setting standards. Numerous
standards organizations exist covering a broad and diverse range of topics.

having recognized activities in standardization; that are recognized at international
level; that have as a principal function, by virtue of their statutes, the preparation,
approval or adoption of standards that are made available to the public; and whose
membership is open to the relevant national body from every country.
