The above links demonstrate a basic navigational structure using an unordered list styled with CSS. Use this as a starting point and modify the properties to produce your own unique look. If you require flyout menus, create your own using a Spry menu, a menu widget from Adobe's Exchange or a variety of other javascript or CSS solutions.

If you would like the navigation along the top, simply move the ul.nav to the top of the page and recreate the styling.

Melodye's Sample User Doc Analysis

The sample user document is the ATI all-in-wonder cable installation guide.

Who is the ideal audience?

Someone who is familar in general with doing set-ups like this. Definitely not someone who has nothing going for them but "technological awareness."

What level of technological proficiency should the audience have?

You need a fairly healthy level of technological proficiency to follow these instructions. They do look cool though, so I think programmers would enjoy this document.

Non-computer skills that are comparative could be a knowledgeable knitter, someone who could knit a aran sweater involving cables, bobbles, loops, and honeycombs.

Hobbies and Pastimes of this Primary Audience

Most likely, games such as Magic, or World of Warcraft. They are probably interested in some form of contemporary music as well: probably independent bands.
