Week of Monday, August 24, 2009 |
- Welcome to ECE 2181! The first day of class is Monday, August 24th and 25th, 2008.
- Notes 1 and 1A have been posted and are on the notes page.
- The book, Digital Design by Vahid will be used in this class. Obtain a copy from the bookstore or purchase it online.
- This class will be based heavily on the web pages. For example:
- There will be a few computer assignments to practice the concepts learned in class. The Xilinx tools are available on university MOSAIC machines. We will also use FPGA boards in any of the MOSAIC labs.
- Homework 1 is available. It's simple - just based on the syllabus, class discussions, and the first book chapter. It is due on your class day, Monday, August 31, or Tuesday September 1.
- Link to the UNC Charlotte Center for Academic Excellence - There is tutoring available for ECGR2181 as well as other courses. You can make appointments by coming by the office, calling, or signing up online. Tutoring is provided by trained peer-tutors in one-to-one appointments, and during the current semester, students can schedule 1 appointment per subject per week. This service is FREE to UNCC students.
- From Wiley, the book publisher: "I'm writing to let you know about a Fall e-book promotion that Wiley is doing for students. All of our major Engineering e-books are $49.95. Students can purchase them here: http://www.wiley.com/go/engineeringvalue "
- From the outgoing IEEE President: "ECE Students, A new academic year is about to start, and we need new and motivational people to make our IEEE Student Chapter even better. We will be holding elections for upcoming academic year on Friday August 28th at 5:00 pm in the Woodward 120. I will award 3 points extra credit for those that attend.
