Tools information
  • 64 bit Vista: Here is a thread dealing with the topic on RenesasRulz below: http://www.renesasrulz.com/thread/2303;jsessionid=509830E972F29633F80882122D6130C4

We do not have 64 bit drivers for Vista. This stops our debugging support. We are working to correct this now. Expected support date is: April of 2010 (at the latest) could be as early as November.
  • From a Student:  "I tried installing the HEW software for the QSK M16C62P board in my Windows Vista system, and it its working fine now. I installed the Flash Development Toolkit given in the CD which had the USB driver. I didn't download any device drivers from the internet."
  • Here is the website to download WindowsXPMode for Windows 7. It creates a virtual console that can be run right on the desktop at anytime.  The user will have to download a 500mb file, and another virtual pc file installation file.  Once I had XP running I used flash development kit to install USB Renesas E driver then made windows. Manually look for the driver within Device Manager.
